J. Ronald Slavik
Chairman of the Board and President
Ron Slavik's property management expertise began taking shape more
than a quarter century ago. After college, Ron Slavik briefly worked
as an accountant for Deloitte & Touche before joining the family's
development corporation. It was Ron’s father, the late Joseph
Slavik, who helped mold the younger Slavik’s vision and ethics
that have forged the growth of FOURMIDABLE.
Ron's focus has been in property management, sales and financing,
and the development of multi-family residential communities. This has
helped grow FOURMIDABLE into one of the nation’s largest, most
successful residential and property management firms, specializing
in the marketing, leasing and management of conventional, seniors and
government-assisted multi-family communities.
FOURMIDABLE is a leader in creating innovative living environments
for all income groups. Revitalization projects under Ron’s direction
include, Grayhaven Marina Village, the Lofts of Rivertown, Village
Park (in historic Indian Village), and the restoration of the Himelhoch
Building to residential apartments in downtown Detroit.
In addition to FOURMIDABLE, Ron Slavik is also chairman of the board
of J & J Slavik, Inc. and SMU, LLC, real estate development and
property management firms.
Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for the Detroit
Riverfront Conservancy, is an executive board member of the Boy Scouts
Detroit Area Council, an active member of the Young President’s
Organization (YPO), and in 1995, was named a Top 100 Executive by Crain's
Detroit Business.
Scott Allen
President
For Scott Allen, a career in real estate has taught a fundamental truth - maximize service and value. The fulfillment of strategic objectives are always connected with the execution of service. Scott is committed to providing the leadership essential to positioning FOURMIDABLE as the property management industry leader in client performance and resident service.
Scott’s focus on performance and service keeps FOURMIDABLE in the forefront of technology and employee training. He believes employees must have the knowledge, skills and incentives to be successful. Return on investment for clients’ results directly from understanding and responding to the varied needs of clients, residents and employees.
Scott joined FOURMIDABLE in January 2007. He brings a 24-year track record of success in property management. During his career, Scott has held executive positions with leading property management firms. He has also served as a consultant and construction manager providing services to property owners and managers. Scott has completed more than 200 comprehensive CNAs (Capital Needs Assessments) for both public and private entities. The breadth and depth of Scott’s experience had enabled him to meet strategic client objectives in all market ranges and types of communities.
Scott is a licensed builder in the State of Michigan. He has been a member of the Michigan Housing Council since 1992.
Under Scott’s leadership, growth, profitability and service are the watch words for the future of FOURMIDABLE.
Jeri Hays
Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President, Jeri Hays is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of FOURMIDABLE’s business. Together with the Chairman of the Board and President, she is responsible for overall growth, development and profitability of the company. Her primary responsibility is to develop both short-term and long-term goals, objectives and strategies with Clients, the FOURMIDABLE Management Team and Executive Team members.
Jeri has overall responsibility for operations, Human Resources, and insurance and provides oversight for the Affordable Housing Department. Jeri also has overall responsibility for the financial integrity of FOURMIDABLE. She oversees a staff of ten accounting professionals who fulfill the accounting and reporting functions for the FOURMIDABLE portfolio.
Jeri provides guidance to the FOURMIDABLE team and monitors the development and performance of corporate and onsite staff.
Jeri is often called upon as an expert resource for advocacy groups and attorneys to facilitate successful resolutions of complaints and requests from residents and applicants. Other responsibilities include inspecting apartment communities, often with government representatives, and specifying, developing bids and monitoring the progress of work
performed to bring structures into compliance with Federal 504 requirements.
Jeri has responsibility for regular communication with Clients for the purpose of assessing FOURMIDABLE’S performance in meeting their goals and objectives.
Sheldon M. Olson
Vice President of Information Systems
Sheldon Olson has the responsibility of overseeing the company’s
complex computer, telephone and information systems.
Sheldon guides the company in its expansion of networking capabilities
that link its widespread resources in managing real estate portfolios
and investments.
A graduate of Michigan State University, Sheldon was awarded a scholarship
and honors for outstanding performance, and he held his major in Multi
Disciplinary Studies, with emphasis in Computer Science, Mathematics,
Economics and Social Science.
To remain current with new hardware and software technologies, Sheldon
attends new product sessions, trade shows and reads extensively. Sheldon
has established FOURMIDABLE’s website, FOURMIDABLE.com, with
an interactive database that allows for FOURMIDABLE employees to quickly
add properties as FOURMIDABLE acquires them. Sheldon has also created
a corporate intranet and virtual private network and also converted
to a new web based accounting software, eSite.
Sheldon has mastered several computer languages and has developed
testing and implementation solutions to programming problems. His continuing
education provides for his proficiency in various computer operating
systems and programs.
Andrea Champine
Affordable Housing Manager / Assistant Fair Housing Officer
Andrea Champine joined the FOURMIDABLE team in 1997. Her experience in affordable housing
programs spans seventeen years. In her present position as Affordable Housing Manager,
Andrea has overall responsibility of ensuring compliance with all HUD, MSHDA, LIHTC
regulations for FOURMIDABLE's government-assisted portfolio.
Andrea maintains valued, long-term relationships with representatives of HUD, MSHDA and
MMAM. She has extensive experience with LIHTC, 80/20 programs, Section 236, Section 220 and
Section 8. Her knowledge and experience extends to market rate, 538 USDA and
public housing communities.
As part of Andrea's compliance responsibilities, all resident files are audited annually under
her direction. Andrea writes policies that facilitate site level compliance with HUD regulations.
She trains new emloyees and she assisted in the development of the compliance training program.
She also trains employees on the revised HUD Handbook 4350.3, and MSHDA LIHTC program compliance.
Andrea has a dual role. She is FOURMIDABLE's Assistant Fair Housing Officer, overseeing the
supervision of section 504-Americans with Disabilities Act and Fair Housing Compliance for the
FOURMIDABLE portfolio. Andrea is called upon as an expert resource for advocacy groups and attorneys
to facilitate successful resolutions of complaints and requests from residents and applicants. She
administers FOURMIDABLE's Fair Housing Training and assisted in the development of the program.
Prior to joining FOURMIDABLE, Andrea was the Residential Manager of a public housing community.
She successfully reduced vacancy and bad debt. She subsequently assisted with the implementation of the
Hope IV project for The Villages at Parkside, Detroit, Michigan.
Andrea has an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. She is a licensed Realtor, Housing Choice Voucher, and
tax credit certified and a member in good standing of NAHRO.
Darren Turner
Vice President of Finance Administration/Corporate Controllerr
Darren joined FOURMIDABLE in January 2007. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.
During his career, Darren has held Controller and Accounting Manager positions with leading
property management firms.
Darren is responsible overall for the financial integrity of Fourmidable. He oversees a staff
of seven accounting professionals who have responsibility for the accounting and reporting functions
for the Fourmidable portfolio.
